GJN recently completed a high-quality rip rap lake edge protection project at Fairhaven Lake, designed to prevent erosion while enhancing the natural
environment.
To stabilise the lake embankment, our team carefully excavated and removed over 15 metres of damaged and spalled concrete. We then installed a durable filter mat over a
compacted MOT, ensuring long-term ground stability and effective water drainage.
The final stage involved placing limestone rip rap boulders (300mm–500mm) along the lake edge. This robust solution not only protects against wave erosion and water
movement but also creates a natural, visually appealing shoreline that blends seamlessly into the surrounding landscape.
