Victorian Shelters Kings Gardens, Southport
GJN was proud to undertake restoration works to the historic Victorian cast iron shelters located within Kings Gardens, Southport.
Kings Gardens is home to nine Grade II listed Victorian shelters, forming an important part of Southport’s coastal heritage. Our specialist team carefully restored these
iconic structures to their former glory, ensuring all works respected the historical significance and original design.
As part of the project, GJN replicated the original pink concrete screed base, matching the heritage specification to maintain authenticity. A traditional dimpled finish
was applied to the surface, accurately reflecting the original Victorian detailing while improving durability and slip resistance.
